GV-1 requires 2 throttle advances to activate?
I recently addedd a GV-1 to my Hawk pro and have it setup to use the throttle to activate it (StSw set to OFF-ON). Also have it configured to use 3 speeds (on ch7) using the "C" switch on my 9C for rs1-rs3). But after dropping back to an idle I have to advance the throttle again twice before the GV-1 re-activates. This is a consistent pattern so I am wondering what I have set up wrong?

two factors to check 1. % of throtle open before engage, 2. % of target rpm to engage . Both have to be satisfied before Gov will engage.RIP Roman

I can understand that the GV1 needs to have both target RPM % and throttle stick position % satisfied before turning on, but why only every other time? It almost sounds like some sort of failsafe is kicking in and the second throttle up resets things but I can't figure it out.

Go to sw cond on amp it will tell u when it is coming on and off this is good because u dont have to fly to see if working

as I recall, most/all governors require that the observed RPM be within some % of
the target RPM (usually around 75%) before it will engage (assuming
all other engagement criteria are satisfied).

So, if your set throttle position is kinda low and the head isn't
spinning much, the unit may not kick-on. Once you bring the head
speed up (and then lower throttle and re-raise it), all conditions
are satisfied.

Or I may be talking out my @ss. Hard to tell.

I give up, after dropping the heli to idle, everytime I have to manually turn off the GV-1 (either via switch or via the throttle stick back off again) before the gov will kick in again after throttling up. Bizarre. Not sure if having the magnets installed on the clutch onstead of the fan is a contrributing factor, but lots of Hawks use this setup and haven't read of issues.

FINALLY - figured out what has been the problem. Apprently the IDLE setting for the gv-1 is pretty touchy so that if you end up trimming the throttle up, and then lasnd and return to idle, perhaps the GV-1 doesn't see the throttle returning to idle and this creates the problem of the unit not re-activating when you spool up again. The way to avoid it is apparently to trim the throttle up higher than normal when calibrating the GV-1.

Most often overlooked, idle-full-stop setting. When I set idle, I push the idle trim way up. If you don't, then at the field you trim up the idle, sometimes it pushes the idle out of the predefined range from the original setup and GV1 will not initialize."

This seems to have fixed it for me!
