Spectrum Rx setup
Hi All!

I'm interested in seeing how most of you are mounting the rx's on your birds and has anyone had any issues with where or how they have mounted them. Would like to see some pic's on the setup's please post them up. This would help alot of us.

Nice pic's guy's I also seen one today at the field and he had the 9000 rx with two mini rx attached to it, it was a nice clean setup but with three rx's does this mean now that it's three seperate signals that the rx's are reading and comparing? I'm alittle confused why this was done and only on the 9000 not the 7000 rx's.

The AR7000 has two receivers. One within the main rx box and one in the satellite rx. That means the data is received a total of four times (by each rx on two channels). This has proven to be extremely reliable.

The AR9000 with one satellite rx actually has three total receivers. Two in the main rx box and one in the satellite rx. The second satellite rx is optional and brings the total up to four receivers. That means the data is actually received eight times and, yes, all that data is compared. Since the AR9000 is intended for even larger aircraft, even more redundancy is not a bad thing.

My mistake, Thats what I meant he had two remote rx's on it and I was just wondering if it was neccesary to add the third one on it if in realty it already has two in the main plus a remote. does this mean it works harder decoding the 8 differnt signals?

Most of the decoding is done in the receivers themselves. Dealing with 8 data "receptions" to compare is such a small part of the total process from stick to servo output that the difference between dealing with four or eight "receptions" is extremely marginal.

Thanks for the info, I'm trying to understand as mush as posible on this new technology as I will be moving toward it I just don't know if I should wait for the radio to come out or get the module for the radio I have now (XP9303) I don't want to invest in something that I will end up changing later.
