Can this Monster Be "Tuned" down...for a Beginner?
All,
Have a friend looking to get into the hobby.... certainly excited by all the chatter on this new machine.

Can the Head be "tuned" so not to be so aggressive for a beginner?

From the Web pictures, it appears the washout arms have an inner & outer setting.

How about bell/hiller ratio on the seesaw itself?

Any adjustment on spacers on the swashplate or hiller arm/cage?

thanks.

I am going to detune a synergy to make it more docile.

You can do this by putting on flybar weights,

Detune the transmitter --- expo
Use the ECCPM setting to not go to full travel.

There are many tricks you can use to detune the heli so it's more docile.

Theses are just a few of the things I am going to work on this weekend, as well at other things that some of the gents are going to reccomend here and at my flying club.

Good luck.

Hey Dude.

As Frank says, work on your expos, flaten in the middle curve, don´t forget to make a gentle pitch curve (-3, +2, +6), add weight to flybar and use not so powerful and fast servos to start (i.e. futabas 3151's instead of 9252's or similar high end equipment) actually all the helis can detune, or tune, using these steps, I hope don't forget nothing, yes I forgot one, work on the rich side of your engine and with 15% heli nitro.

Welcome to Nitros, maybe you can reach at Raptortechnique for a few more hints and tips. Good luck.

and use not so powerful and fast servos to start
That's fine advice for cost , but it won't help to make it easier to fly . All it does is introduce more delay in the control loop , that never makes things any easier .
At the end of the day , it gets dark .

All you need to do is lower the head speed to 1900 ish and use the stock paddles and the outer holes on the flybar carrier and use 75% of the avalible swash travel, the heli will be fine for learning to hover ect, good luck getting one!!Align Trex 600N Magnum Fuel DX 'The Future' 7

no matter how 3d capable this heli is, it will still be easier to fly than a trex 450.

I'd wait and get the sport version...The torque tube tail is much more expensive and the G10 frames on the sport version are almost as good and much less expensive in a crash.
