Triton, Align RCC-3CX Balancer and Mega3s 20c 2100 batteries....
Well, I am finally back into heli's after being out of it for 2+ years (divorce, taxes, etc.). I recently purchased a Mini Titan, and 3 Mega3s 20c 2100 batteries. I have a Triton Charger, and purchased the Align RCC-3CX (thought it connected via the triton to the battery) charger/balancer. With my old Trex, I used TP 2100's, and always just charged them using my Triton, at 1.9a. No problems. But now I am reading about cell balancing, etc., which makes sense to me. So....thus far I have had no problems with my RCC-3CX (it does have the fan, although very small). So I charged all 3 of my batteries on it, and it took about 30-45 minutes for each (new batteries, never used). So I got out my trusty old triton, and hooked them each up and set it to charge. Each battery only charged about 0038 (not really good with amps, watts, etc). So I am thinking that I can use the RCC-3CX to charge/balance, then the triton to 'top them off'. Does this sound OK? I have read all of the problems people have had with the RCC-3CX's, so I am waiting to see how it holds up. Haven't flown my Mini-T yet, waiting for my Gy-401 to come in. So it will be interesting to see how the RCC-3CX holds up on a depleted battery. Thanks for the help and any info/input would be great! Safe and happy flying! Semper Fi!!
