T-Rex 450 like helicopter tail not holding Hello Guys,I have got a problem with my T-rex 450 sized heli. It has Radix 325 bldaes and the JGF 500TH motor and the Jazz 40-...regulator.
My Motorpinion is 14 tooth. The gyro is a 401 with a HDS-577 18g Micro Digital Servo. My problem is that if i go for climb out the tail turns to the right. I have checked the max throw and no binding. If I do staionairy rolls the tail can hold it. But if I try to make som tic toc's the tail start to move. I have the 450 carbon tail blades. Now I saw that the new T-Rex 450 V2 only have a tail gear ratio of 4,24:1. My heli has about 4,95:1. Can this be the problem? Furthermore i did not use the delay on the 401 cause I dont know what it is for. Maybe some one can help out. regards from DenmarkJanis Andersen |

Try lowering pinion size. 14 tooth could certainly cause torque swing on punch out that even the 401 would have a problem keeping in check. ![]() I run only 2700 on the head with 80% on the Jazz. I just thought to use Raptor 30 tailblades since they are longer thatn the T-Rex 450 carbon.regards from Denmark |

I agree Try dropping a tooth...I felt that even a 13 can bog at times.
Leon Luke may have one of the hacker motors with the lower Kv. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. |

I fly with HH mode n the Gyro, the gain is about 50% in the DX 7. Maybe this is too low? I dont know what the gain will be in the gyro. The videos i saw with Leon Luke, there he was using the JGF 500TH just like me but with a 15 tooth pinion. Correct me if i am wrong.I have extended the travel so that the tail blades are nealy aout 45degrees at max throw, Should be enough.I will try a 13 tooth pinion and a higher gain in the DX 7.regards from DenmarkJanis Andersen |
