Tube bending

Anyone seen my mount will have noted it has fairly tight bends in 20mm tube.
It is 6060(6063) T5
I used to send them to get them annealed and bent, they do a fairly good job but Ive had a few with too little annealing that have some pretty visible mandrel marks and some micro tearing from a hard pull and had to be tossed in the recycle bin.
Then a month or so back I was at the extrusion mill watching some large tube runs of ours being done (140mm and 120mm tube) and the mill manager mentioned to me as we where looking at the huge curing oven, that we can order zero or low temper tube in the same, he has a 20mm die too.
Send it to benders giving them an easier job to bend the full batch of tubes cleanly, then get them back, pop it all in the domestic oven and cure them to T5 temper so the whole tube including bend is up to temper rating.
Might give it a shot.

Cheers
Dave

I should probably just let this post die but I hate accusations that are made from ignorance. First I won't post your name but we don't even have you in our system and you stated you waited 6 weeks for the mount when you were told two? We have never been 6 weeks behind I took the time to check.

As for the front plate being covered in carbon monokote. Yes it's because it looks good. You state no one knows it's wood? that's odd because we have customers ask if we can cover the plate to match their heli color.

Why did I offer your money back? The profit margin on a Mini Pro1 is very low so we sell them in hopes of have a long term customer that buys other products we sell. I don't see you being a long term customer and not because you criticized the mount because you tried to make it look like we were lying to customers and ripping them off.

Best thing is got from this thread was we like how it works you are just a college student wanting to show how smart you are.
Ship it back and build your own! Have all the CNC'ing done, buy all certified aluminum and have a certified AP weld the parts, use all AN hardware and then let me know about cracking 5052 in a 90 degree bend. It's bent with a jig and roller by a certified AP also.

Like I said we have made changes because customers sometimes have great idea's but bitching just to post and liking how the product works? JUST SEND IT BACK AND MOVE ON! I will give you our UPS account number so you are out nothing!!!!

Thanks
John

In order to end this thread, I'd like to state I bought my mini pro 1 from idol minds and we spent a good deal of time discussing this. Thanks for the decent reply, John. Let this thread now die, I've had my questions answered.Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

After waiting almost 6 weeks (when you said you would ship in 2 weeks) I don't want to take the time to pack it up and return it. Thanks for the offer though.
Idolminds

You don't even own a Mini Pro1. It's going to be hard to return what you don't have. Nice guys! At least we found out the truth. What a huge waste of time for people who actually do this stuff!

After you bash my reputation you want to say ok I bought it from him John please let it die. Maybe you should have told the truth up front?
