401 Gyro Problem???
Hey

I bought my T-rex450 off of here already set-up which was nice, but it spoiled me to not learning how everything works! Well several crashes later Im learning! Anway heli been flying fine so I wanted to mount gyro under bottom. I bought the required piece mounted it, looks level then tried to fly heli and it now spins in counteclockwise rotation?? I have Futaba7chanel and settingr are
UP>A 40%
CT>A 40%
Dn>A 40% Mode>GY

The gyro beeps and red light stays solid. I can move stick back and fourth to readjust tail, Also letting it intialize on level ground. No bindng in servo or linkage rod! When I move head of heli with hand the gyro does its thing. Why did mounting gyro on bottom change things?? Feel free to recommend checking things I missied

No I havent tried the gyro back on top really hoping to find some other problem before moving back on top!

The more fundamental problem here is that you didn't check the gyro direction before you fly . Just plug in the receiver pack into your receiver on the bench and jerk the helicopter one way and see which way the gyro pitches your rotor blades. If it goes the wrong way, flip the reverse switch, if it goes the right way then leave it as it is .

If you set the gyro up with it mounted upright, then turn it upside down, you need to reverse the gyro function at the gyro. By flipping the gyro upside down, what it used to sense as a counterclockwise rotation becomes a clockwise rotation.-----

Thanks guys I reversed switch and no problem now, I was gonna tyr that but thought I would ask first! One more ?? if anybody wants to respond!

I got my gain set to 40% which was done by other owner can I increase and if so what exactly does increasing that setpoint do??

Actually, with a properly set-up Trex, that's a pretty good number. Increasing the gain will increase 'sensitivity' and possibly cause tail wag if you have binding or a slower servo on the tail. You may even consider lowering the gain in your 'sport flying' (forward flight) mode.
