The thing I have always admired about George is the fact that he is not afraid to speak what he feels.
His comments are realistic and honest.
He only says what most of the rest of the people are afraid to think. One of his best qoutes:" Look into that place deep inside of you, That honest place that sees things the way they really are, and you will see me staring back at you!"Liberals are like a "Slinky", useless but entertaining when pushed down stairs.... |

Mark, I couldn't agree with you more in regards to gas guzzlers. Public transportation definitely needs to be emphasized more, but unfortunately the infrastructure just isn't there yet. There are many places that are too rural to make public transportation effective, and of course in American culture, it's all about convenience. Nobody likes being confined to a bus/train schedule and have to worry about what time they're on the platform or bus stop. They want to be able to go where they want, when they want. But people will learn one of these days... I hope. |

........and of course in American culture, it's all about convenience. Yes, that's true. But I think there's a little of "My dick is bigger than your dick, and here's my new Hummer to prove it!" going on too.-MarkThere, their and they're. It's really that simple. |

I sympathise- a public transport system would be hearder in an enormous place like the US.Within towns though, it's all about bicycles and public transport. I live in Cambridge for half the year and everyone has a bike. It's just like the stereotype- proffessors in tweed cycling along with a leather bag and a pipe.... well maybe not so much like that these days, but certainly everyone seems to cycle. It's just more convenient that haulking tonnes of metal around and taking up space. |
