What could be next for the 450 series T-Rex?
Now that the V2 is out what the heck else can they do to this size range heli? Could they really make many more changes/updates? I couldn't care less about a glow version. Hopefully they aren't even considering that option.
As far as electric goes has the 450 pretty much reached the zenith of its design? I can't see them completely abandoning this well proven heli size. Maybe moving up to a still somewhat "affordable" 500 size? Then they could start all over again with an X or XL and then move through the SE series again. Whadya think? Will the 450 be updated much more? Is a 500 size next on the horizon for Align?

I can see a V3 coming along next then maybe a V4 and V5.... IT's way to popular to not upgrade it as electronics and technoledgy improve.Tom..... No "D" flying....

Flybarless head options for scale. Torque tail drive. Belt drive transmission. All things I'd like to see.

It is the tail for a 3dx450/HDX450 from either helidirect.com or xmseller.com

There are other dealers but I use these, excellent service.

I think the next move for them should be to get the cost out, without cheapening anything. That is if they want to remain ahead of the likes of Thunder Tiger and their marketing genious (witness the Raptor nitro history), and beginnings of success with the mini titan. That heli is much cheaper to acquire, flies as well or better, quality overall may be better than the align 450 line.

Plus they need to resolve issue with the V2 damping, and possibly C.G. issues with the heavier higher-C rated lipos (mine is always nose heavy, unless I want to mount a much heavier and larger tail servo. I don't.)

I think for the most part the quality is good but qc is poor. The pricing and availability is good and overall performance per dollar spent is good. My HDX/3DX stuff is really designed well and per dollar spent is excellent choice.

The V2 head concerns me because I didn't find fault with the V1 head! Only wish they would find a way to use larger hardware to secure the blade holders(keyed nut instead of cap screws). From the looks of V2 feather shaft it is more resistant to shear at the hub but still uses the same hardware for the blade holders.....they should have increase the meat all the way around!!!!!!!!

Yes, pretty darn close! I have been raving about this heli for some time because it's bullet proof and cheap but I always catch a ton of flack from the die-hard Align guys! LOL!

I just like to find the best quality lowest price product with good supply.........because my wallet does have a bottom in it.

I am also a mechanical engineer so I would not support a product which has severe design flaws! For the most part I am happy with Align stuff........but there are alternative addons which can make a world of difference.

If I didnt have as much issue as you think why the price drop????
Do a search on HDX I had as much issue with the HDX300 and 450 My hdx300 flys but I would not do any 3d with it on the tail it fell apart in flight yes I did use lock tight .

That tail will hold rpm's better and provide much more linear displacement along the tail shaft without binding......translation.....better!!!!! Just pay attention to detail when assembling, use locktite and washers carefully, and good to go!
