Lipo Battery Fire
Has anyone had a Lipo Battery catch on fire? A friend of mine bought a TRex from another friend yesterday. He was charging the Lipo battery and it started swelling. So he disconnected it from the charger and threw it. About 3 seconds later it caught on fire. I saw what was left of the battery, it's pretty freaky.

Thank God for Lipo Sacks and Battery Bunkers!! I use a Lipo Sack and I just bought a Battery Bunker last weekend.

My friend just had the pack laying on a wooden table while it was charging. If he hadn't saw what was happening, he would have burned down the garage with his IMAC Yak, RC glider, 2 RC boats and lots of other RC planes.

These Lipo's are pretty freaky when you realize what can actually happen if you don't pay attention!! The wife made me buy a Lipo Sack after seeing the video on line. I'm going to be adding a smoke detector to my garage real soon!!

what do I do with a 8S1P 5900mAh.. how to charge this safely?
There is no foolproof way to charge. However, if you use a reputable charger with inline balancer that can order the charger to stop when one of the cells reach 4.20v, then the danger of fire gets REDUCED. Thunder Power 1010C charger with 210V balancer combo will work good. Just keep in mind that charger can malfunction and so can the balancer!!www.JustinJee.com
