How to paint??
I have a couple rattle cans of paint I want to throw on my mini T canopy, and i was just curious if there is anything I need to do to prep the canopy other than clean it...The paint is Tamiya Color paint that I used on some car bodies.....Thanks...

All I did with mine was lightly sanded it with 600 grit wet-dry sandpaper, then masked, and painted then cleared....all with rattle cans.

I did use a clean clothe and acetone to remove the shiny bit.
Using plastic bumper car under coat then wet sand 600.
Paint on top then clear coat..

Knock all gloss off with a scotchbright pad or 600 grit wet or dry sandpaper and go for it. wipe it down with some alcohol before you spray to remove any dirt and grease. Don't use acetone (sorry henrik04), it could attack the plastic. Rubbing alcohol is fine.

I used all automotive paints and prep cleaners. I used 500grit sand paper sanded till all shine is gone. Then wiped with a automotive pre cleaner liquid used to remove all surface oils. Then sprayed with a adheasion promoter. and used house of color paints reduced 2:1. the solvents in the paint help adhear even more to the plastic. then coated all with a polyeurethane automotive 2 part clear cote. Mixed 3:1. after all that let is sit for a day and fly.

Not a pro but ok I guess..
I didn't know that acetone could damage plastic. However I tried first on a cutout piece and it was ok and quick without leaving any scratch on the canopy.
