Can I use a 7ch Rx with a Governor etc?
Ok, I've got a spare 7ch Rx from my Trex 450 that I'd like to use in my new Fury Extreme. Problem is it only has 7ch and it appears I will need at least 8. Any ideas or should I just get a new 149DP? I am using Futaba Gear with a 9chp Super.

Ideas?

Edit: I think I have figured out a way. I am using a TJ RevMax Limiter so I can simply NOT use the remote RPM setting mode. I can calibrate and set it using the POT instead and then don't need that spare channel. Seems to work from what I can tell...

here is what I ran on my eclipse 7 channel with gv1 & 601

aileron
elevator
throttle
rudder
gyro gain
governor speed setting (secondary adjustment lead not connected)
collective

the gv1 was set to turn on/off based on throttle position.

and there was a spare power only battery input.

Some RX have a seperate port for the battery.
For the ones the do not you can use a Y-harness.
Most all receivers (it not all) can have power input
on any channel. The same one you would put the gov is
the best since it only has a signal wire.

Thanks guys, mine does not have a spare battery input port so I will get a Futaba Y Harness for it so I can still have remote RPM Setting.

Thanks!

Jagnz,

You also could plug the battery into the slot for gov.
then take the gov signal wire remove it from its connector
and then place it in the battery connector. (the open one of course)
This way you would have one less connector to worry about comming apart.

Or you could just buy a 9 channel RX which would give you the perfect excuse to buy a new heli to utilise the 7 channel rx

Nahhh, I'm selling my Trex 450 that HAD the 7ch Rx in it. Nice little heli but I like my Nitros too much to fly her much now....besides, the Fury Extreme IS new to me, I just bought it.

Clearly then a nice new heli deserves a nice new rx You may want to check the requirements of the Arizon Reg in case you need more channels.
