clunk line hung up
Has anyone else had this happen to their Raptor 50. I currently am using the OMI fuel magnet with Hayes black fuel tubing in my main tank.
I have just started to play with some inverted hovering. I was practicing some hovering when I thought the engine was running rough. I landed and discovered that the header tank was almost empty along with 1/3 fuel still in the main tank. I thought this was strange so after further investigation I found the fuel magnet was stuck on the "bottom" of the tank while inverted. I thought I had used the correct length of tubing, considering that others have mentioned that the Hayes will swell shortly after use.
I like the Fuel Magnet but was wondering if this tank has anything to cause it to get stuck.
I just may have to use a different brand of tubing for the clunk line or ditch the fuel magnet.

With the fuel magnet you can run the fuel liine a little shorter than normal cause it works more like a spongue than a clunk. Try cutting a little off and put it back in and move it in all directions by hand and see if it lodges up. If not you are good to go.

You would have to cut Hayes line on a fuel magnet several mm shorter than stock not just a few to account for the swelling as the FM is longer than a standard clunk.Andy

I ran into this exact same issue several times. Ultimately my best fix has been to rotate the fuel line so that the natural curve of the fuel line points to the top of the tank. Test it by holding the tank (or heli) upside down with a light on the other side. You should be able to see the clunk tapping the top of the tank.
