Gyro (which?), Governor (which?) Hi,I'm interested in two gyros and governors. These being:611 Futaba (easy to get, repair, etc etc).
Logictech 6100GT...For governor, the curtis youngblood ATG or the futaba GV-1.Do you have any noteable pros and cons of them? Also, I live in England I am worried about customs getting me if I buy from a foreign shop. What gyro and governor would you buy? This will be for a freya 90Buying... So as not to break forum rules please can you PM me any information on this.I am thinking of getting a spektrum 7channel, there will be no problems with this? I would ideally like a 9 channel 2.4 system, but I think I will have to wait too long for this... |

I have used the TJpro, worked with the GV1 and they work okay, but the Curtis ATG in my opinion is the absolute best! Plus it is extremely simple. The 6100 is pretty simple to set up plus it works pretty well so I would lean towards it. I use the CSM720/9256, this one also works really good.Only Fine Helis, Hobbywing |

The Aerospire Multi-gov and Futaba 611. The best combo, in my humble opinion. Why buy?? when you can borrow and no return |

I have the ATG and I love it. Sold my GV-1 after flying the ATG for a week. Sound like a salesman (just kidding). Reason for selling? What does the ATG do better?Check out multigov at aerospire.com , great product and tech help thats second to none.... Did you read my original post, about being from England and what not? Also, what advantages does this have over the GV-1? Clearly it is smaller, and cheaper but is it actually better? I don't mean better value for money, I mean is it better at what it does?TJ Revmax. Cheap and simple! Not too worried about the price, I'm good with electronics (so it doesn't need to be simple). Again, is this product better? If so, why?I have used the TJpro, worked with the GV1 and they work okay, but the Curtis ATG in my opinion is the absolute best! Plus it is extremely simple. The 6100 is pretty simple to set up plus it works pretty well so I would lean towards it. I use the CSM720/9256, this one also works really good. Why is the Curtis ATG better? the 6100 is better because it's simple, or it is better? The Aerospire Multi-gov and Futaba 611. The best combo, in my humble opinion. Excluding prices why is the futaba 611 better than the 6100? What is better about it? The aerospire multi-gov, why is that better than a GV-1?GV1 is pretty old technology. I would say go with the multigove by Aerospire. Now we are getting somewhere... New technology with new features? Or just new technology made it smaller?I am grateful for your replies but I still little information as to why I should get the products you suggest. I can understand complex things so within reason I do not mind buying a complex product aslong as it is better at doing, what it does...This maybe a terrible example but a raptor maybe a simpler, cheaper, helicopter than an avant aurora. This does not mean that the raptor is better at what it does.U WOULD BE HAPPY WITH GV 1 AND LOGICTECH WITH DX7 Ok you are typing in caps and everyone is talking about simple products. I can read perfectly fine, my eyesight is good...I'm sorry did I put I am 86 years old in my profile, instead of born in 1986? . |

I'll get the aerospire and logictech. Logictech is now available in England, so that made that choice a whole lot easier. |

The big thing I like about the Multigov is its size and ease of setup. Plus if you have more than one heli, you only need to buy one setup screen and can use it with each copter, electric or nitro |

Hi,Yes after a bit of digging around for information I discovered the futaba does not govern as well. It will lock the RPM to within 100. Where as the ATG is within 50. Same goes to the aerospire. The aerospire was smaller, and the freya is not a light model, so any little bit of weight I can save is helpful. The logictech was better statisticly and those that tried both the logictech and the futaba 611 seemed to say the logictech was better not just on paper too...I can remember when companies were new, and cheap - then after a while (dispatched to many shops in England) they would later have a more competitive price. I guess it was to gain customers.I think a similar thing may happen with logictech, I could be totally wrong but I would not be surprised if their prices go up. There was £100 difference for a product which is similar if not better.England has a law that the product will be garunteed for 12 months. From my experience most things break within their first three months if they are going too at all.The customer survice is nice of the multigov, they do not have stock at the moment but they have replied to my emails very quickly. There is usually always a way to get what you want from a company, but it is nice to be able to write civily and them replying quickly and helpfully. |

Customer support is not a problem for me, when I have bought from the UK. There are many laws to get what you want. Though I must say it was extremely nice emailing aerospire and getting an email replying thirty (if not less) seconds back; however, if one product was better than the other, but the better product had worse customer survice. For a gyro or governor, I wouldn't even consider the customer survice as a deciding factor.Aslong as it works and it will stay working, if I have to wait a month from one company for what I need and a day from another company I do not mind. I am in no hurry.I have no evidence to show that CSM make better gyros, or a better governor. With that in mind, the idea of spending 100 extra pounds knowing materials and labour is far more expensive in this country I am far more happy to place my bet on logictech and aerospire. Which would be all I'm doing - gambling.By all means, be my guest and show me proof that the CSM gyros/governors out perform the logictech and aerospire. |
