Joe,
So if you have the binding plug directly in the BATT/BIND spot on the receiver and power the receiver, the LED doesn't start flashing?- JohnRR rules! |

try binding without a switch take your bind plug, plug into battery port on rx
plug battery into any available port on rx
old bind button on tx and turn trx on, wait a few seconds then release.
after light on rx goes solid remove battery and bind plug
attach servos to rx plug
turn on tx then plug battery into battery on rx then see if servos moveLes Maui RC Modeler's, Big Island RC Helis, http://www.facebook.com/mauirc |

Thank's guysI plug the binder to the Bat port like you said, it work fine
but why didn't it work on the switch? The book only show you the plug to the switch and it the one that came with the radio.
any way it working great.Thank you every much. Joe Rudy Castaneda |

it may not have worked with the switch because wires could have been put in wrong ports etc. I never use a switch anymore to do my binding. It's just easier to me to do without it. And always double check to see if its bound correctly before attempting to fly. Better safe than sorry.AlohaLes Maui RC Modeler's, Big Island RC Helis, http://www.facebook.com/mauirc |

The switch harness that comes with the DX7 has 3 wires all the way through the system, so the binding plug can work (it shorts the signal wire to ground). Most existing switch harnesses do not have the 3rd (signal) wire, because it isn't really necessary to turn power on and off. So, if you tried to use the binding plug with an existing 2 wire switch, it wouldn't work. The picture and instructions in the DX7 manual assume you will use their switch harness. |

Molokaiboy,How do you know if your receiver is "bound correctly"? I thought that if it worked, it was fine. Is there something else I should be checking?Ken |

I have the 3 wire switch. But I found out the switch is bad, switch was on 1/2 min and the wire got hot and bat too. Check out recvier it's ok had to use the switch from a plank never flew it any way.
Well from how on I will use the bat port to bind. Joe Rudy Castaneda |

I have been reading this thread out of curiosity but your last post really worries me.First question is why do you want or need a switch for binding the RX? Normally you only bind the rx to the tx once, thats it unless you make some major changes to the model or move to a different model and even then you may not need to rebind. If you have wired a 3 terminal switch (Change Over switch or SPDT) to the 3 wires of a "servo tail" like cable then you are creating a dead short in one position because the switch will short the two power distribution busses that run across all the servo sockets and not only risk burning the wiring to the switch or battery pack or ESC but you also risk burning up the copper tracks on the Rx pcb (printed circuit board)Can I suggest you setup your desired stick positions on the TX, bind the RX once and LEAVE IT ALONE.Flying, crashing & having a ball. |

The switch harness that comes with the DX7 has a separate connection for binding. It does not create a "short circuit." I agree that once the receiver is bound it should not need rebinding but if you move the receiver to a different model with the DX7 you must bind the receiver to that model as the DX7 has the Model Match feature. It would be a rare heli or plane that could use the same settings from model to model.

I use the switch because the manual for DX7 show picture an insertions how to bind the RX. It dose not tell you to bind it to the port of the RX. The manual should have given an option on bending the RX. I’m not that smart that why I ask for help, yet my wife let’s me fly helis. I love it.. Joe Rudy Castaneda |
