running-in a stock OS50 in a evo50
i have done 8 tanks of coolpower15%, and i have the Main Needle/Needle Valve about 1.5 turns out and it blows HEAPS of smoke, but is quite sluggish.

Do i start to touch the Mixture Control Screw at all or do i go leaner on the Main Needle/Needle Valve?

what is the main diff between mine and the hyper

The Hyper has a larger bore carburetor and a larger heat sink on the head which give it greater cooling allowing you to run it leaner.

You can try turning in your main needle in a couple of clicks at a time then fly it for a while then land and quickly check the temprature by placing a finger on the back plate. You should be able to hold your finger on it for a while. If it's still cool then try going in another couple of clicks, if it's hot then back it out again. A lean (hot) engine will burn up after just a single tank of fuel so be careful when adjusting it towards the lean side.

Make sure your muffler and head are tight and that you have no air leaks in your fuel system

And all the Hyper head does is keep it cooler.

When you turn in the main needle you might need to turn out the idle mixture a couple of degrees as the main needle controls the over all amount of fuel allowed into the carb.

There is a thing called a pinch test to check your idle setting. While at idle, pinch the fuel line closed, if the motor starts to increase in RPM immediately, you're too lean. It should remain at the current RPM for at least a thousand one... thousand two... count
