DFlyer,

I havent had the chance to get my 600N all put together, but I have looked at the the fact that there really isn't a good place for the pin switch too. I have a few I ideas that will look good and be very functional. (I've always hated half a$$ installations) I am going to use some spare Carbon fiber to fashion a bracket that won't require you to have to modifiy the heli. More details and pics to come!! I have seen a few pics of some people's installs, but I didn't like the placement and mounting method. It made the heli look very messy. Right now with what I have designed i might have to drill a small access hole in the canopy to remove the pin with the canopy mounted. I am looking at a work-around for that. I would rather use an existing opening though so, I might mount it so that the pin faces downward toward the opening at the bottom of the canopy just in front of the clip. Let me know what you came up with

5.1 regulator
Leady,

You can safely run all of your set-up on regulated 5.8v (I've checked it our with both Futuba & JR (I'm running pretty much the same set-up)

You'll notice the difference in response at 5.8v

Surely with a regulator between your battery and receiver will bring out the most in your servos. It was a difference of night and day when I added one, going from 4.8v non-regulated, to 6v regulated (Fromeco Arizona)._Sam B_

Canopy Dismount
What ever anyone does, secure your canopy with these:

I had this happen to me the other day, and it could have cost me a significant crash:

the only trouble with those nice metal canopy mounts is you risk snapping the frame rather than the mount in a crash. Seen it happen on raptors quite a lot.

Trex 600N Modifications
I've been busy building my 600N and I wondered if anyone has made any modifications to theirs or even just mounted stuff in different place to the manual. For example:

I notice there is actually space to hold a bigger tank or a header inside the frame, just behind the engine.

There's also space to hold a 2 cell lipo either between the servos (front) or underneath the fuel tank.

The regulator might be better off under the tank where it would get better air flow to keep cool.

Tail Servo: Rear mounted off the back of the frame so you get a direct drive to the tail?

Any suggestions or ideas?

mont_blanc - use a fuel magnet rather than a header tank as weight is an important issue with the 600N because every effort has been made to minimise this. I tried the 600N using the stock setup and found it easy to get the carb to suck air with low fuel levels

The pros and cons of the tail servo mounted rearwards or frontwards are in favour of a front mounting due to reduced maintenance. Provided the linkage is setup well, the performance benefit of a rearward mounting would be negligable.

Regulator, Gyro-amp and governor all fit neatly in the radio tray with a 2 cell 2600mAh pack on top gives near perfect balance. The battery needs to be mounted high to keep the CG up.

The fuel magnet is the only way to go if you don't use a header tank. There just isn't an easy way to mount a header tank on the 600N, if at all. I've had two flame-outs with the stock clunk, causing forced auto landings.

Take a look at where Align's diagram shows you can mount the electronics. Align's manual also gives you suggestions.

http://www.jkheli.com/T600N/T-Rex%2...nfo%20sheet.jpg

Also, these work nicely for less variance in servo travel:

http://www.readyheli.com/SearchResu....x=0&Search.y=0

Just be sure to carefully measure all linkages as per the manual's millimeter lengths, and make the servo horn dual linkages identical. After I've ensured this, I've never had to make a blade tracking adjustment! The blades to this day are still perfect. That was a pleasant surprise.
