I'm eagerly waiting on 1.04 but does anybody else think that 14hr days 7days a week sounds like a recipe for bugs? So will we all be soon after eagerly waiting on 1.05 then?

Keep up the good work Phoenix!

I know my heli can do the tricks, I just have to figure out how to twiddle the sticks!

I'm getting dreadfully fed up of waiting for this update,I'm also fed up of the online multiplayer function never connecting to the other host's flying sessions,I'm told that it's a problem with my router, but my x box 360 works just fine with it.there is also a severe lack of helicopter models to fly..........I think I'm going back to reflex, yes in fact i will get the new reflex version 5.04,even though it's barely any different to the old one,i'd rather have plenty of models to choose from and no online multiplayer function, than an online multiplayer function that doesn't work very often and hardly any models.sorry if this causes offence to anyone at pheonix, OR ADE LAW!but it's just the way i feel.all comments are my opinion only!

1.04 is coming along nicely. as normal with these things stuff crops up which means it takes longer to get them sorted. there has ben no "that will do" or "lets leave it til 1.05"

this isnt a patch up thats for sure. major changes to the way GUI and the physics. Its looking fantastic.

rotor-shark, your frustrated with waiting for phoenix, but they have listend harder and released more updates in the past 10months than reflex did in their first 2 years of XTR...

wolfgangs attitude towards reflex customers was very poor indeed, but he made it possible to create hundreds of models for the simulator, and also sceneries, there was an abundance of models and such like because every body who was capable made a model,i even had a go,but it wasn't brilliant.

phoenix is a better simulator in my eyes actually, and i prefer it,but the online facility is an absolute joke, you can rarely connect to the sessions advertised, and blaming it on the router seems strange seeing as other stuff like the x box, share sites ect work ok doing the same thing on the same router.phoenix emailed me the solution which never worked(port forwarding)and it was really complex to do as well. that coupled with being fed up flying the same few helicopters constantly means i'm likely to sell it and go back to reflex(new one)when i got it i thought there would be models available for it like there was with reflex.
all comments are my opinion only!

1 - The rate of working
Coming from the software industry myself I tend to agree with you. Working that extensively to hit a deadline is not usually a good recipe for bug free code. Having said that it is also down to individuals - some programmers can work well like that, others can't. We'll have to wait and see what Pheonix's are like. And remember it is being released as a Beta. Phoenix's approach is to embrace and trust its customers letting them have features early (maybe a bit rough round the edges) rather than waiting a year or more - personally I really approve of this approach as it treats me as a grown up and almost part of the team.

2 - The wait
Come on, you've only been waiting a few weeks. As for XTR, how long has multiplayer been coming. At Nurnberg they finally hinted that it would be this summer. Well summer is almost upon us and we've not heard a thing from Reflex. I reckon you'll going to be waiting a lot longer for XTR stuff.

3 - Loads of Aircraft
I guess this must be a personal thing because it's not a big thing to me (I'm not saying that its not important to you). As far as I'm concerned, it is nice to have a few aircraft to choose from, but in reality I tend to spend time setting up one or two and use those for 90%+ of the time (even when I had XTR). Besides, Phoenix have said that there will be an aircraft modeller.

4 - Be patient
It's not long off now - just wait and see what its like rather than get all hot and bothered at the 11th hour. If you don't like it after it has arrived, then it's a free world, you can do what you like.

Cheers,

Nigel

Hi Rotor Shark

OK what Heli's would you like to see added to Phoenix, a good chunk of the most popular ones are already available and the T Rex 600 Nitro will be added very soon.

If there is enough demand for a model I am sure it can be added in a reasonable time scale.

Cheers

Hey bob, do you know for the v1.04 update are we going to edit the engine sounds for different models? I made a Trex size 500E, but it has a turbine sound. Cool yeah, but not accurate. Remember when flying inverted that down is up and up is EXPENSIVE!

rotor-shark there is defo a problem with your setup at home there are loads of people using online all the time with no issues. Are you sure you configured the port forwarding correctly? This isnt normally required but it seems some routers are more fussy than others

there is a way to change the sound each model uses but i cant remember how to do it. drop an email to support@phoenix-sim.com they are very quick to reply.

Oh yeah another teaser from Phoenix

http://www.phoenix-sim.com/pages/news.htm

The new features sound awesome and can't wait for the release.

One of the new acft - Katana Mini (electric 3D/aerobatic airplane)
I've been wanting to buy one of these for the longest times so I'm really stoked about this one.

Sounding good Phoenix.
