Is it the tuning? I wonder.

Is your engine making a "burping" sound? (too rich)
Or a Metalic rattle? (too lean)

If it sounds pretty much fine without any sudden sounds then it should not affect the tail.
Is your tail running without friction?
Bearings OK?
No heavy vibrations?
Blade tracking OK?

What Gyro? And tail-servo?
HH or normal use?
Is this also happening in Normal mode?

OK maybe nothing. But I had this last year.
As soon as I engaged my Throttle Jockey my throttle started "hunting".
I could see my throttle servo overcorrecting.
I tried everything but in the end it was my receiver.
ON certain RPM's the vibration would let it malfunction.

In your case it could be the crystal or receiver.
Can you exchange it for a test?

I know it is a long shot but you need one now.
