For me, I'm sticking with my EVO 50. Hirobo quality is tops and I've never had a part fail in the 15 plus years I've flown Hirobo's. Lets face it, all 50 size helis today are pretty good and it comes down to what you like and what others at your field are flying. When Align came out with the Trex, I wasn't very impressed with it and it took a while for it to come up to speed. To make it perform half-way decent, a lot of upgrades were needed. The 600N is probably going to follow suit. I'm not bashing here, just remembering how the Trex matured.

I have never flown an Evo 50 so I can't comment on it. I have owned and flown several Raven 50's, flown my buddies Raptor 50 SE,helped another buddy with a Venture 50. I recently went with the Knight 3D and sold my Ravens. While I feel the Raven is a good heli, It is a tad heavy compared to the new generation of 50's. I am very pleased with my Knight 3D. I've only got a couple of gallons thru it so far but no issues with it yet. I put it together box stock with the exception of the tail rotor control rod, different flybar paddels, and changed out the links on the head for Century 3D links.I'm sure the 600n will be a good heli also but The knight 3D has to be on the short list, maybe at the top of the list.

I'll hang on to my EVO50's also. For now they seem to be just right for my tastes. The quality, price and availability of parts is excellent.

I have an Align Trex. I would think twice before purchasing another Align product.

I saw the JR50 at Toledo. Really nice heli!

So most of ya'll side with the 600N. I am sure it will be a good heli. But I wouldnt buy one of the first. You have to remember that Align is a big company and sometimes get rushed on releasing the darn things. Remember what happened to the 600. Recall!!!!!
I dont know how many of you have seen the RJX Hurrican. But I would bet it will out perform the 600N by far. In fact it keeps up with my Vibe, and has even faster climb outs. By the looks of there new extreme then it will even be better.

Oh not to mention the hurrican is cheaper than any of this helis with metal head and carbon frames. I'm not saying to run out and buy one but take a look. I have some video's on my forum http://www.rchelipit.com/viewtopic.php?t=499

The problem with the Hurrican is that the only source in this country is a single guy, who doesn't even provide a physical address on his website. The advantage in Align is it comes from a huge company with great distribution, and parts are inexpensive and available form any shop that has a Horizon account (which is just about every one of them). The Hurrican is a very nice looking heli, and I've yet to hear a single bad word about it, but a heli is an investment. I've learned from a few previous experiences that there's a lot more to a heli than the way it flies, there's parts availability, cost, and support, and a product with such limited distribution strikes out with me, even knowing that I can buy Airskipper parts for it.Nick Crego

There are other's on the same boat. It's not easy for a company to break out into the mainstream especially in the 50 size. There are so many to choose from and more coming. The hobby shops have limited resources so they choose the models that are the most lucrative to them.

I agree Eury
But Rusty is working with hobby shops right now. I like the way RJX works. I know if I need a tail boom or bearing block it is in stock. Becouse they stock enough parts for each kit they put out. Kinda like I have a whole other heli setting there waiting on me. I think once he finds hobby shops that will agree to these terms it will be even better.

But I will back RJX on how well it flys. It is just an awsome machine. As for a/s parts fitting it. I wouldnt do that. The Hurrican parts are much better built. I own both and would know.

okcheli,

Are the frames true carbon fiber on the hurrican? It looks like the Cosmetic Carbon Fiber used on the Zero G frameset for the Raptors?
I know that carbon Extreme had made some great framsets that were in the different colors.

Its hard to tell from the pictures.

I also agree with Eury, Parts support will sway most people form buying helicopters from importers without a good parts distribution system. I am not knocking the Hurrcan, just dont really know much about it.

Thanks,

Jarrett W.

But wait....
I didn't see anyone suggest an Audacity Tiger 50. As far as price and performance, not one mfg. comes close to its price point and performance.

For the bucks it is the one to have.

We're really discussing the newer metal and carbon designs. The Tiger is a nice little heli, but not really in the same market. The Pantera is closer, but still not really a competitor.

Air Slicers - I believe they were talking about the RJX hurrican 50, not the Guai Hurrican 550...that is an electric.

I've had just about every heli on the market, and the Pantera is as good as it gets in the 50 sized class. It has a very simple and strong structure that is easy to build. Flying wise, it is very mellow in the hover, and will almost sit there hands off, but when you move the sticks, it moves out. It has the fastest cyclics I've seen in any heli, and rolls and flips like no other. The best part is, the head doesn't get loaded down like so many other helis do when you move the stick, so it really excels at 3d aerobatics.
Looks like the Pantera is the one to beat!

RJX hurrican 50
of course it flys great its a direct copy of the jr airskipper. its not there own design, thats easy to do. theres no r&d for them to log many hrs and flights perfecting it.

wait til the vibe50 comes out that will be copied also.
