It's easy to get me started just ask my wife. I do write real letters to company's all the time with letters of satisfaction or dissatisfaction and get real results. If I have to I'll fly down to Billings and get things rolling lol.One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

My very first helicopter was a GMP Competor, then I had one of the first 1005 MA, both were great helis, I still have a couple of 1005s hanging around here.

they've already publicly stated that they'll have a new gas model in 2011. It'll be simpler I'm sure.

The 1005 wasn't all that easy to build CORRECTLY.

Here is a crummy picture of my GMP competitor from back in the late 80's. I loved that heli and won a lot of competitions with that machine. My next machines after that were the X-cell .60 series.

yea
The thing was when you did get it running good it flew great. Working on it for any reason after a wreck I really hated. I would rather have a root canal.

Its all in the experience
Once you figure it out you can rebuild it with your eyes closed so to speak. Over the years you do learn some tricks of the trade and things to look for and watch out for to make the thing run smooth.

Sorry to hear about the root canal. All I can advice is brush, floss, mouthwash and electric toothbrush all in the same day more than once and those issues should go away

Root Canals are nothing...

I'd rather have one than crash any day. Besides, you get a nice bit of bling afterwards in the form of a gold crown.

I think one of the best things about the Min Air 1005 is that parts are still mostly available. I think that is amazing for a heli that has been around for such a long time. Mine was kitted in 1995.Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
