Airman98, I used to say the same thing, "Well it is cheaper than Bass fishing for a hobby!" Then I added up how much I have invested in radio control stuff for an insurance inventory. Well let's just say that the Ranger Bass Boat and a Big Motor and Custom trailer and all the rod and reel stuff was the "smaller" of the two hobbies. "Yee-Ouch" I said!!

My motto is this..Fly...Rebuild...Fly

Not sure either but I bet Visa knows!
I bought a Venture,engine,460t then replaced it with a 401/9253 combo, other electronics, crash parts , different kinds of blades, different kinds of mufflers,a few planes ..crashed them too,8th scale buggy and electronics. 10th scale stadium truck, upgrades and crash parts for them too ,and lots of different kinds of fuel!
but I still can't compete with some of my buddies spending habbits.

"You can't handle the truth"

Spoken by not only the great actor, Jack Nicholson, but also by my wife...who often asks the same question. When I don't reply, she replies for me...she's like that.

I am pretty sure that I really don't want to know how much I spent last year. I do know that my junk box was filled with parts and pieces totaling several thousands of dollars worth of crashed choppers, demolished in 2002. I think I crashed 3 in just two weeks, last year, plus many other crashes... maybe a total of 8 or 9 wrecks. Oh Man

It's best to not know. Any sane person would surely quit the hobby, yet we're all still here.

$200 a month
I spent $4000 the first year I got into this hobby. I pretty much mellowed out now. I have a $200 a month budget for my helis, but I never seems to stick to it. So many helis, so little time.

The road less traveled is less traveled for a reason, duh.

I was out of the hobby for about 5 yrs or so and when I got back
in it last year August I spent more than my first 2 or 3 yrs put together.
I estimate about 5- 6K range.

Let's put it this way. If my platinum Visa is used for anything other then heli parts, they call and ask if it's a valid purchase.
Hey, you can't take it with you so you might as well use it while you can.
