External HVAC system, non structural.
Dang! I've never seen an HVAC system hold up a section of building when the rest of it collapses all around.

That is some strong duct tape.

Nice picture Torsten. That has to be the best weather I've seen in any of your picts. I was starting to think the sun doesn't shine in Germany!

Too true! We've had 2 1/2 weeks of awful weather here. The rain is sorely needed though.

Rafael,

that is the elevator schaft and was blown last to spread out the load of the impact as they have a underground subway going underneath the building. they filled the whole basement with gravel and that is also the reason for the "ridges" in the buildings bed.

hope that helped ?

That makes a whole lot more sense than an external HVAC system that can hold up 2 levels of a collapsing building. I know duct tape is strong, but not that strong. It seems that I remember my physics class in college, despite of the beer gut that I carry now.

Thank you for your clarification.

Hi David,

The inflated objects were part of a Colourscape event:-

- Seemed appropriate to take the pictures with a bright yellow 6' balloon
