Battery mounting location
I'm redoing my electronic setup so I'm considering moving the battery, replacing a GV1 with a ATG. Anyone install a flat battery on the angled part of the servo tray? I wonder if the weight higher on the tray will make the heli roll different. My N9 is a little nose heavy with the 4800mha lipo battery so moving the battery up on the tray should move the cg back a little. Thoughts?

Hi Chuckie

On my N9's I mounted flat Fromeco 4800 li-ion packs at the angled part of the servo tray. My thoughts about choosing this location for the battery pack was to bring the weight of the battery pack closer to the rotor head to make the heli even more agile for 3D flying. The CG seems fine to me, and it is slightly nose heavy without fuel. It rolls straight and certainly feels like it is in balance during the flight.

Here you go

I used double sided sitcky tape underneath, and Velcro over the battery pack.

Hey Kjetil,

How did you mount the Arizona regulator there?

Thanks,
Gio.

Hi Heligio

I used a few layers of double sided sticky tape underneath the plastic mounting plate to decrease vibrations on the regulator. Leave the mounting plate on, but trim it with a knife so it has the same shape as the circuit board on the regulator. Thread Velcro between the circuit board and the plastic mounting plate, and wrap it around the servo tray protion under the throttle servo.

This is kind of a soft mount for the regulator, but it stays in place without any problems. The regulator is also away from the receiver (just in case).

Both the double sided sticky tape, and the Velcro keeps the regulator in place..

Did this help?
