Lipo on stock?
I was under the impression i could not use LIPO's with the stock engine(s). My first two "stock" batteries wore out and i'm off tomorrow to get new ones. Not ready for the whole "upgrade" kit thing but would like longer flight time. Anyone know the facts on Lipo with stock stuff? Book says not to but i figure i'd ask the real pro's on here.

I ran a T/P 1320 on mine before any other upgrades.Worked great.

You can use 11.1v lipos I like the 1320 mah for long 20 min flight times but many prefer the 800-100 mah packs with less weight.....Tom..... No "D" flying....

Motor is the same with the upgrade if you are referring to the Blade AEK mod for BCP. The motor pinion (upgrade) is one tooth smaller though. You are pushing the 4in1 ESC pretty hard if you run the stock pinion is all which could/maybe/perhaps fry a Mosfet or two.

Yup, follow the manual's gear combo recos. I've burned 2 escs flying a 10T motor , flat blades with an 11.1v 1320mah lipo. The weight of the lipo, high voltage, and stress of the large pinion was just too much for the 4-in-1.

My personal recos:

Flat blades: 10T with 7.4v lipo up to 1320mah
8T with 11.1v lipo up to 1320mah

Symmetricals: 9T with 11.1v lipo up to 1000mah

Get a good lipo charger with balancer.

I haven't tried a US-bought charger. I use an Observer 4 lipo charger and LBC balancer. I bought them here in the Philippines. Must be some Chinese brands.
