T-Rex 600 Torque Tube upgrade (a must have)
I finally had a chance to put some stick time on my newly installed torque tube and I was pleasantly suprised at how much better the heli felt. The piro rate was very constant during all maneuvers and the tail is very quiet and smooth.

I put the heli through many high stress maneuvers like piro tic tocs and piro tic toc reversals and I did not get any tail stall. Funnels and funneling figure 8's were also very smooth.

I think this upgrade is definately needed for hardcore 3d pilots and brings the 600's flight characteristics to the next level

Great job Align

Any way to tell off the bat if you can use the stock aluminum or carbon boom with the torque tube upgrade? Or is the included boom a different diameter and length?

edit:
Ah, I See on the align website, you use the stock (or carbon) boom.

That's correct Casey, I used my stock boom. There is a new boom clamp that comes with the kit which is alost identical to the stock one. I used it but I believe that I could have also used the stock one as well. I heard that the new clamp was released to better fit the newer booms as they are now slightly smaller in diameter.

What gyro / servo are you running in your Rex? What Tail Blades?

I am running a Logitech (the smaller one) w/ a z9000 @ .06 and stock blades.

I have also tried a GY401 / 9254 and JR 500T. I have never felt like the tail was really really locked in. So far the Logitech has been the best but the starts and stops are kinda wonky feeling.

I'm running a 601 gyro and also using the new thrust bearing tail assembly. I'm using 95mm V-blades with 37% gain. You have to move the ball in on the servo horn to maintain a high gyro gain when using 95mm blades with the new tail hub and grips.
