From what I have read around here, the 23 runs much smoother. I've got a stock 23 and am very happy with it. Haven't flown a 26.

Aviation has a perfect record, we've never left one up there.

Hanson company modifies engine in two ways, they modify the 26 to improve the ballance, and they modify engines for improved performance. They have a few different levels of performance mods, and I'm not up on which is better, etc. I do know they ballance the 26 engine by first replacing the piston with a lighter piston.

I've run their first generation of ballanced 26 and now have a stock 231, and my 231 is smoother than my 26 was.

stephenk99 :

welcome to the group...!!!

I´m about to buy a predator too, I´ve seen a few videos of the predator 23, and letme say that if I get to fly half of what I´ve seen in those videos, I´ll be happy forever...

the only sad thing, it´s to wheit 2 monts for it to come back in stock because Century it´s opening a factory in Asia.

Mass production for Century...!!! GO...!!! GO...!!! GO...!!!

Century Gasser
From personal experience, Ricks is the place to get your Predator Gasser. I highly reccommend a stock Zenoah 231 as I too had tried the modified motors and found the 231 to be the smoothest of the bunch. Its critical that you take the time to find the resources to balance your fan, and dial indicate the clutch. I also took the time to reface the flange on the one way bearing which the crown gear mounts on. The above efforts resulted in a gasser that flew beautifully and silky smooth for 40 liters using Motul 800 2T at 50:1. (until my RX died and gravity had a go)

A Raja generator is an elegant addition for your RX battery and an aftermarket insulator is also a nice idea.

Patience and the persuit of perfection during assembly will reward you with countless hours of trouble free flight.

Gassers rule!!!

I've got a G26 and I'm using it for AP. Runs great when tuned properly.

Why wait 2 months for a Century when you can have a Bergen today!

I recommend Rick's as well for your new predator. Rick's Predator has different standard options that come with it, such as, metal elevator arm, 720mm blades. They also provide outstanding customer service. Talk to Nathan.

As far as engine choices, I have the stock 231. It has plenty of power for my style of flying and is very smooth. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go with the stock motor.
