Lower rotor head repair for cx
Upon breaking the shoulders(little arms that hold the lower blades on the outer shaft) off my lower rotor head, I took the lower rotor head off and drilled a hole throught the head where the shoulders used to be w/ an 1/8th in. bit. The shafts were 1/8 in dia. so I took the plastic mold from one of my sons models and stuck it in the lower blade holes cut it off with an 1/8in. sticking out and placed them back in the head. this has been working very good. When I break the lower blades, I just take needle nose pliers and pull out the little shafts and stick them in the new blades. This will keep you flying until your aluminum lower head comes in the mail I have shown the head w/ the hole drilled and the two little stubs that I put in the blades

replaced L rtr head, now it won't lift off
Did I mess up something when I replaced this part?
had to remove quite a few items to replace the part. I don't think i lost anything. but it seems like the top rotor slips now. doesnt spin as fast as the lower rotor.
and now it wont get off the ground.

how do I fix this??

notice the flat spot on the inner shaft,make sure the set screw is tightly screwed against it.i had the same problem that you are describing and that fixed it.try it out,might helpmaking it flop on the ground in an uncontrollable way is my signature move

but, were is this "flat"? which screw does it align with? The bottom one at the gears? the one on the 'head?"
i even had the thing (shaft) out of the bird and didn't notice the flat part.

ON the gear on the bottom is where the flat spot is. Where the inner shaft goes onto the gear. Chuck

slipping shaft
ok great! thanks for that.
-locked it down and now it wants to fly. HOWEVER. now i'm getting this hellish un-trimmable slide to the left. it literally tips over as it's lifting off.
what the hey?

oh, and here's a shot of my mast. (see attached) does this look correct?

I only used one screw at the gear base. the second one didn't wanna go in. it seemed secure with one. there is (only) one screw on the upper part of the lower head. there seems to be places for two other screws below, but i don't think there was anything originally there.

where should the collar (silver one below the lower head)be? seems like it can be high or low.

Are you trimming from the radio?if you are don't.level the trim on your radio,and make sure your swashplate is level with the heli+radio on.the radio trim should only be used for small adjustments.

another suggestion is to make sure the blades and flybar are tracking right
making it flop on the ground in an uncontrollable way is my signature move
