I wasn't aware of the popularity of this motor. But at the LHS feild where I fly my heli, I mentioned once to a fellow flyer, who fly elctric airplanes, that I have the motor, and there's seems to be something at the glow of his face, when he responded "you have that motor?", that he know something about it, although he didn't elaborate. But then a week after, when I showed up at the feild, holding my Lepton, he gleamed in admiration as he approached me and and commented, "Is that an AXI 2826?". I said yes, and as he seemingly want to discuss the matter, he held back and just said, that it's a good motor, making me question myself, he know something I didn't know about this motor. It may have something to do with him being and RC airplane pilot, makes me think it might be popular with airplane people.

Well I found out that day, I spooled it up, and when the HS stabilizes it got me a little nervous, I've never flown my heli's with such power intensity. But then again I brave to put it into hover, took it 50ft high and started pumping the collective. It reacted so quick with the pitch change it ate up all the teeth in the main gear and found myself having to do an emergency auto. Good thing I managed to take it down to the ground without incurring any other damage.......

thanks guys,

the setup is basically a collection of a bunch of spares I had from an SP that I sold with the exception of the motor.
I didnt design the canopy, it was painted by one of the quick employees that later sold it to me. It has some holes cut out on the top and bottom that are really well done.
the battery is Polyquest 4s 3300
esc is CCHV45
motor of course is the Z20
servos are Futaba 3101. on the swash and a 9254 on the tail.

I was just reading a post on the other forum about the Z20 in the EP8, Gary says the Z20 1500 works best with maximum of 420mm blades and the 1700 works well with 440s...

finally flew it...
Well, today I had my first 2 flights on the EX, I have a few things to say, first off the motor doesnt bog but the lipos get real hot. After flying it I decided to fly a final pack on my SP "batcopter" recently I reinstalled the AXI 2820/10 with 18t and since the entire ship is carbon and so much lighter it beats the EX on full pitch climbouts.

I do like the solid feel of the EX, but I think im going to get some bigger lipos any suggestions? The EX also needs to go on a diet.
