Which Blade grip hole ?
Hello, I'm just building a Evo 50 HPM, step 11 shows to use the outer holes in the blade grips, I will be doin fairly aggresive 3d flying with this heli, and perfer greater pitch changes with smaller stick movements( inner holes ), just wondering if the OS50 Hyper w/muscle pipe will handle the faster pitch changes. Is anyone using the inner holes ? any problems ?
Info appreciated,
Ron

I was under the impression that the inner holes are for the Non-Evo Sceadu, while the outer are for the Evo? Same grip, just different mounting saves on production costs.Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

No reason to use the inner holes. You can get over 23 degrees of total pitch with the outer positions on the grips with proper setup.

What you might consider doing is using different holes on the pitch control arm and T-Lever compared to the instructions. I'm using the outer hole on the pitch T-Lever and the middle hole on the pitch arm. This gives you a wider range of pitch movement at the swashplate.

I suspect that using the inner holes on the blade grips would make the head more prone to flutter, since any slop in the control system would produce a larger effect at the grips. In its standard configuration the Evo head is just at that perfect balance between reactive and stable. You don't want to mess with that balance.

Ronnie,
I had been looking for this post for you as I used some of the ides setting up my Evo-50 when I was ready to get better 3D performance.

Even though the Evo-50 does not have all the adjustments of the Evo-90 this was a very good thread for understanding and testing the inner blade grip holes. Also see if you can find the February 2007 Issue no. 200 of Model Helicopter World http://www.modelheliworld.com/ as they have a comprehensive write up on the Evo-90 and the inner hole. There is commentary from Jeff Green the MRC support rep about using the inner holes and leaving the mixing arm on the High Stability hole on the seesaw. Very very interesting stuff and I just love how adjustable the Hirobo's are, however it can be a bit overwhelming to the weekend flyer like myself. If you can't find the MHW article PM me with your private email address and I can scan it for you.

Instead of filling up your mail box with 6mb, I posted it to my gallery and to http://www.prtml.com/freya/ Sorry that my office scanner is a bit thrashed so there is a bit of a mark on one side. I've put both PDF and JEGP on the website and only PDF in my gallery. Its a good informative read and gives us weekend guys a place to start.I see said the blind man...
