#1--Any recommendations for a tool to use for linkage rod A on the DFC head? Seems like a micro plier of some sort but not a needle nose or hemostat because it has multiple flat surfaces, like a hexagon and a needle nose won't fit squarely on it.

#2-- Any opinions on these? I hate the one I have.

I do appreciate your thoughts, Thanks.

I use two flat head screwdrivers to take out the dfc swash linkages. The key is to take them both out at the same time.

For screwing in the dfc link you can use needle nose pliers and then a hex key. Rotate it into place.

I have 2 ball link pliers, I grind one of mine down because it was too thick but that made it soft. But it still works. I have the Align curve one and the modified Marvick.
If my Align works for you, I'll sell it to you. Tony has the Century one
That JR one looks thin but straight tip.

You should try them out before you buy one to make sure it fits your setup

The rod I am referring to is threaded on each end and has a widened hexagonal part in the middle. Is there a slot to accommodate a flathead screwdriver on either end?

How does a hex key work since this piece is like a bolt with threads at either end?

The flat head part is for removing the links from the swashplate. If you're trying to thread the link, hold the linkage with a pair of pliers and then push an allen key into the linkage hole and spin it. Be careful not to damage the linkage. You can always do this by hand also.

130X Deal from Horizon
For all interested, Horizon Hobby has a special on the 130X, normally $249 with free shipping, the kit comes with 2 additional free lipo's, an extra set of main rotor blades and a metal bevel gear-- altogether, a $58 value. If you take a 10 minute online survey, you'll get an extra 15% off the price. I just pulled the trigger... $212 all in!

Thanks George, for the input-- yes, I've heard great things about the Mav's too....

You know, David-- I hadn't thought of that. Seems like for a price that low, Blade may be making their move to an all new "130x v.2 extra gold" version and get rid of their current inventory. Why else would HH run such a good deal? Regardless, I'm sold on the thing after flying Mark's last wknd. I know for that price the 130x will be a nice alternative for something to fly b/t the mcpx and the 550.

I'm away this weekend, so enjoy the great weather and plenty of sky!
