Dave, we opted not to do the hover. We tried to run the event with minimal interruptions. We will however have a go at it during the Summer Spool Up.

Happy Hovering;

need wireing diagram for my two 12 volt power supplies
hey, can anyone help me out.
I have the two 12 volt server transformers for a power supply and want to wire them for my 24volt icharger and another smaller 12 volt charger.
So, I will have 2 bannana ports. One for the 24volt charger and one for the 12volt charger.
Need help on the wireing.
thanks,

Noah, looks like you wired it for two 24volt outputs....

Simon .. thanks ...Probable...
I think that all four wires just go to each post and then you just plug banana jack into whatever posts are parallel (12volt) and series which is 24 volt... Maybe?

Think this is the correct wiring
Each post shares both, the 12volt supply and the 24 volt supply, so that if you'd want 24 volts than you'd put negative (black) bannana plug into one of pair of posts and then put the positive in the other (red) pair

Noah... Dont plug that in... The way its wired its going to short itself. Its wired in a circle.. The negative 24v goes into the positive 24v. I dont know how to post up a diagram on this post.

Did you remove one of the PSU ground? Both PsU can not be grounded. Only one need to be grounded.

If it's feather merchant then one of them should be isolated already. Start by making the 24v circuit first. Then take the positive and negative from the grounded unit and get the 12v from that.

Solder the wires and heatshrink if you're splitting them for 12v.

Thanks John. I think that is what I did on my first posted pic. I guess I just need to find the grounded unit.. Or like Simon is doing.. Just buy another PSU.... But don't really like the extra weight

To find the ground unit, turn off the ps. Use a ohm meter and measure across the neg (black)lead to the chassis. If it reads short that unit is grounded. Now test the other unit. The other unit must have an open reading, if not, you must isolate the 12VDC neg port from the chassis so you can connect them in series to get 24VDC. Otherise you will short out one of the ps when you hook them up in series.

From the bottom photo YOU WIRED A HOT LEAD TO A GROUNDED NEG LEAD. If the top photo is what you purchased from feathermerchant YOU NEED TO REWIRED WHAT YOU DID!

See my later posting.

The top photo both sets of post are 24VDC. The ps on the top near the hinge is the isolated one.

Nuroo,
see my later post. You have the isolated ps on the wrong one.
