I tested and lost power to one SAT @6V... Re-plugged in the battery and didn't do it again.... Thinkin going back to the HW ESC with the Castle Pro BEC but I need a 22 gauge servo "Y" splitter wire to hook it up properly....Just for now... Anybody got one I can use for Sunday?RIP Roman Pirozek Jr.

Ok I am really getting a well rounded course here, that was a bad break Jeff. I am taking notes. You're right John I need to fly my 3GX first and then decide. Checked out Helifreak info on "FMA/Revolectrix Product Support" and it seems to be a tight product. Also found the answers to my questions, thanks Dave. Appreciate the help.

No way you can get brown out if the talon bec is anthing over 10A. Wow. CC rate that at 20A peak and 9v continuous. It must be a 10A bec build in and not 20A. I guess Talon BEC is not meant to be use with HV servos. Even at same voltage. HV will draw more amps. Ture? Try the bec pro again and use both leads.

I know the CC 10A BEC will brown out at 5.4v on any servo besides Gaui v1 servo (non-HV).

Jeff,
It's 20 amps peak, not continuous. You only did one pitch pump which shouldn't overload the servos that much. If the HV servos need to draw more current, then why don't they have a thicker servo wires? I might be missing something here that's why I want to take a look at it.

Tony,
Is that castle BEC the blue one? That's a 10 amp peak bec and a 5 amp continuous which probably explains the brown out.

Okay.. Just got off the phone with Castle Creations. They said I probally have a bad servo drawing to many amps.. Said there is no easy way to check it.. Called Empire.. They are going to replace the servos but have to order from factory first.......

I just want to test hover it Sunday to double check everything from the crash.. Main shaft has a tiny bit of play but could of been there.. My test hover here seemed good but want to make extra sure before I order parts that Empire is covering... I am so happy with Empire's customer support.. Never heard anybody else being this helpful..... Gives me a sense of relief...

John. My video was an old video. Back than I had the CC 10A BEC running at 6v. Found the brown out on the desk. I flew it for awhile too but i was just begining and only doing hovering. So the CC 10A was holding @ 6v hovering. I found the brown out on the bench.
After finding out the problem. I move to CC BEC Pro and problem was solved.
Now I have kontronik. I am using both from Kontronik BEC.

I dont think the Talon 9A continuous will able to hand HV servos.

Jeff might have to use both Leads from BEC Pro.

Was looking for a meter for you to use.

I was thinking a watt meter to record your current draw and found this. Only $30 to confirm your problems.

Found another one.

Thanks so much... That's what Castle recommended is to get a watt meter ... This is unbelievable that these servos are drawing so much current. Even when one is plugged in.. The Castle Engineer couldn't believe it was browning out with the Castle Pro... These are $120 each for cyclics and $130 for tail. That's $490!!!! in servos.... Man I hope I can figure this out... I'm happily progressing in my flying skills and want to show off on the X5.... Stay tuned as the Saga continues....RIP Roman Pirozek Jr.

jakozzz,

If you're running HV servos save yourself the headaches and run them off a 2S pack. Thats what they were made for.

As I said earlier, get a separate receiver pack. HV servos are made to run off a 2S pack straight up. I would NOT install a switch. Just use a EC3 as your switch. I would run 3 set of heavy duty wires from the plug and into your VBar. You will need to made a few Y plugs to get the power in.RIP Roman Pirozek Jr.,

A few "Y" plugs? Do you have a picture of a set-up? So I make my own RX pack? I've been looking on line and all the RX packs are to big. Remember it's a 1 inch wide skinny gaui frame ...My Gaui buddy said to run a life pack.. I just noticed I was upgraded to Heliman... RIP Roman Pirozek Jr.
