seriously, think about it. What if the training gear really worked. I can hover inverted on my sim better than I can hover upright. I can hover my raptor pretty good, But I darn sure am not going to invert it yet t see if I am better inverted on that. But now if the inverted gear could be made light and strong enough?

Yeah, I would need to make something that won't foul the blades.

bustedmp,

I tried my first inverted at altitude. I had it hovering up, up, and way in front of me, then I rolled to the right, and she stayed. then I just continued to roll to the right and she was out.

I made the mistake of thinking a roll if FF would be easier, and I tried to roll, ooh, it was bad, didn't crash, I was way up there. It looked like a half barrel, half piro, and half disoriented.

I think I need to master all aspects of the upright hover first. Then will try it inverted!

Ok, here it is, my secret weapon, I ordered it from one of those late night commercials.

Its the Tic-Toc - Practice Platform.

Worth every penny, Just be carefull, if you have a 90 size, you need to fasten this trainer down.

Not off angle, Just that they are thinking inside the box, outside the box is dangerous....... For your heli.

That cage you made up was done years ago already to learn inverted.
There was something in Ray Hostetlers first heli manual (I think that's where I read about doing this before) about doing this and they also used to use a goal post at a football field to tie the heli to upside down to learn to hover it inverted.

He rigged his heli inverted inside the cage like yours and would lift up the whole light weight cage to learn inverted. I think he used light weight dowel rods and they were using Miniature Aircraft's 60 sized machine then as it was the best and only game in town back then.
