Anyone watching Mythbusters and the Century Helicopter? I just turned it on and they were putting a postage stamp on a 5 blade head to see if it would throw it out of balance.

Yea I just saw them bolt what looked like a lead weight to one of the blades and destroy it.

"a little search goes along way" and "copy and paste" works just as well.

your right it does. It was on tv when i posted and asked if anyone was watching it. If I wanted to search for it I would have. I have already read those in the past as well. Thanks for the searching though, because none of us know how to do that.

What bothers me is... when you balance blaces... you use stickers!!

So a postage stamp would infact... throw it out of balance...

Seems to me... they were checking for "tracking" in the "mythbusting". They were looking across the rotor head to see if a blade was out of wack.

Here is how i would have tested it. Built it... put the stamp on it.. and spooled it up WITHOUT BEING STRAPPED TO A TABLE!! to see if it shook or something...

Much like the "full size" one they used at the end... it was tested with lateral motion detectors... the full size wasn't strapped to the ground and tested... it was flown.

no worries... i have already complained on THEIR forums :-P

maybe they will fly me in, for a re-visit. hehe!
