What's the difference? Is it simply the case of lasting longer, or is Ceramic smoother? I am in the market for couple of 5x11x4 bearings for my tail transmission shaft. I saw some ceramic ones, that they EXPENSIVE!! $15.00 a piece. It had a rating of ABEC-7... whatever that means... Does ABEC represent speed tolerance?

That's where I saw the bearings. So what's the difference?

Nevermind... I just saw the bearing basics link. Wow! Very informative. I think I'll give him a call, and see what other bearings I can replace. Most of the bearings on my heli are about year old.

Thanks.

Reading this link made me think about my crank case bearings. Paul talks about improving the performance (up to a certain point) with better bearings, namely Ceramic.

I have a gasser (Zenoah G231 PUH). First of all, does it use bearings? If so, anyone here upgraded their bearings?
