OK today i had 2 flights with an AON motor and the ALIGN 35A ESC. Now the first flight was all good nothibng happened landed great.
2nd flight however on the first minute or so the motor just cuts off. Flipped it upright from a tailslide and watch it smash into the runway, get there only landing gear is broke sweet! OK so then I change landing skids, and go to try it again on a FESHLY charged batter and no headspedd what so ever, full thorttle to boot. Now when I got my deal with AON they said that the motor may work with the align esc but they doubt it because something about the ALIGN esc not have a sensor(its sensorless) and that it need a sensor, but he said that they will work with a castle or quark. So i then grabbed a buddys JAZZ esc and fired it up and nothing, so then i took my ALIGN esc and fired it up on his MEDUSA motor and HS up the buthole, so I went up to the LHS and picked up a castle ESC.

Has anyone had this issue with the motor(2815-3500)

No I did not check the esc to see how hot it got, then later on in the day another guy with the ALIGN esc AND motor and the SAME exact thing happened, as it did last weeked it cut off.

Welcome to the world of Trex's.
Solving cutoff can be so many issues! I doubts it's the esc or motor, but rather rf equipment, where it's being used, or how it's wired. Many people are using those motors and ESC's.

Try a new ESC and a BEC to go with it for starters..
if using ppm, get a berg.
if using pcm, get an r146iP (think you have a 12Z right?)

ok here is the email with steven with AON discussing the ALIGN esc that i questioned him about before i got the heli.

Hi Jason,

Our production motor will work with all sensorless ESC. They will be at dealer cost or the cost I can get them at. For example, I don't have account with Hitec, then I would acquire it through Cermark as a dealer. You would then pay my cost. Castle Creations product I can acquire direct.

Align controllers are perfectly fine. I heard that they are a little on the soft side though. However, it is best that you try it out for yourself first. Rumors are usually not dependable.

So what part of the email from aon makes you think that you need a CC esc? I promise that more people have problems with CC ESC's than align esc's. Another I forgot to mention is the quark 33 amp.

AON
I run an Aon3500 on a CC25 with no ferrite ring. Runs great with no glitching and on an SE frame.

Love it.
