Yes, they are a lot quieter than the "tin box". The muffler is designed to accomodate the displacement of the 26 engine, and when used with the 231, the restrictor is recommended.

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

What model Hatori muffler do you have. I've been using one on camera ship and about every 8th flight I have to remove the muffler and retighten the mount that attaches it to the motor.

sorry, I have to be wise guy, the mufflers are all quiet until you attach a running motor to them. Sorry, couldn't resist. They are cool looking!

CristopherJ Hatori came out with a newer version of the gasser muffler. It has a different mount. It is made out of stainless steel and that is supost to keep it tight.

V3 muffler vs. V2
Guys,

robrt here on RR did some test on the power out for both V2 and V3.

http://www.runryder.com/t300874p1/

V2 seems to be working better for him. I believe he is running Hansen modded g26.

I think Century is beginning to phase out the V2, if they haven't already done so. And with the V3, century found numerous defects on them, and in process of either fixing them, or re-manufacturing them. I believe a huge batch of these mufflers had pin sized holes in them, and it would spit out oil. I am not sure if that pin hole caused any compression loss or not...

I have a strong feeling that it won't be until January when Century is able to re-stock their parts. Let's hope for the best...
