Ok, Trying to decide between the 10x or the 9303.

I will be flying 99% helis but i would also just like to get a cheap foamie to throw around, and i was wondering if the heli version of the 10x is capable flying just a basic foamie or should i go the 9303 route?

And no - im going JR - i dont want a 9C, have had one, its nice, but i just like the feel of JR Radios more.

yes,the 10X will fly an airplane. I have flown a 33% cap on a 10X "heli" TX before.

It works fine. You just have to get creative on the mixing, it will not have the duel ail or elv function that you can just activate. You will have to mix it manualy. With a fomie you will not have to get too picky
