I've been flying a HDE bird for about a year now. Initial research seemed to indicate that the HDE and the CDE birds flew in a similiar manner, so thats what I started with. During learning curve I replaced about all parts with the upgraded stuff. The bird flew very well, and was a lively performer giving good 3D performance for my skills to date. With the onset of winter, I decided to switch it over to CDE to get rid of unnecessary linkage and for improved CG from better battery placement. I finished the setup this week. Boy what a difference. I thought the bird was solid before, no comparision to how it feels now. Rock solid, yet instant crisp response. It flys like it's on rails and better stays where you put it! Other than different swash and fewer linkage parts, same bird. Anyone else have similiar experience, or is my imagination?

You are right about the difference between the 2 systems. Like you I started with the XL with the linkages and it flew great. I got a good deal on the SE and I could not believe how different the heli performed. When just flying around they both pretty much were the same thing but when you need to make a quick move the SE was hands down the better heli... For 3D it's the way to go for sport flying either bird is great right out of the box....

Tom..... No "D" flying....

Most all who fly the HDE and move to the CDE (True CCPM) say the same thing..
