Im making the conversion to a 50 from a 30. Since I am opting for some pretty CNC and Carbon Fibre upgrades, I am not buying the standard conversion kit.

Here is my wishlist from HP. Since I am having a tough time finding P/N's, I hope someone can help me out with adding the rest.

It looks pretty complete except for the gears. I do have quite a few extras, much of which I don't need. (or even shouldn't use, such as CF 3D tail fins, and Light weight paddles ***'Cause I suck at flying with what I got ***)

I know I still need to find the tail supports, pinion gear, and possibley the drive gear. Since I am going with the 50 Hyper, what else is recommended?

I should have a pretty HappyRappy when I am done

I like the list of upgrades you have, should make for a sharp looking heli, on the gearing i would stick with the stock gearing myself.

Hey I didn't ask for this fetish.!!!But I'am sure paying for it....

Looks like you are decided to spend some good money to your Rappy however not all these upgrades are good IMHO.

You can get much better upgrades with less money.

For example the stock metal fan plus the Maverick full metal head makes a total cost of USD 220. The Maverick metal head if youl'll make a search is actually a downgrade and not an upgrade.

It gets sloppy very soon and generally the quality is not that good.

With USD 200 you can get the Kasama head with the Kasama metal fan combo. These items are this moment the number one upgrade for all the Raptors.

Also the CF boom is useless and the only thing that adds is in the bling factor. In the first boom strike or minor crash you'll say goodbye to your USD 34. The aluminum tail boom is just fine.

I agree with SPB. You can get the top of line Kasama head and fan combo from z-rc.com for the same amount that you are going to spend on inferior products.

The carbon boom also isn't necessary. You could buy 3-4 standard tail booms for the price of one carbon boom. Then you will have spares when the inevitable happens. Same thing with the carbon landing gear. While they look nice, they are expensive to repair in a crash. If you want better landing gear, than check out the Quick UK landing gear. They are available in several different colors so you can match it with your canopy.

While you're at it, you should go ahead and install the new 8.72 gear ratio. It comes with the main gear and pinion gear. This combo helps reduce/eliminate bogging. You can also run a slightly lower head speed while still keeping the Hyper operating at 17000 RPM, it's peak output.

And if you ever decide to upgrade the tail, the QUK tail case and tail grips are the way to go. They weigh the same as the stock plastic pieces with the added durability that aluminum affords.

Here are a few pics of my setup on my Raptor 50:

Good luck.

Stock gearing will meant that I have a 50 Raptor geared for a 30. That just can't be right. What Pinion and drive gear do I need?

If you install that optional gear set, you will not regret it!
It's the final piece to the puzzle that makes the R50/SE a great flying machine!
