Just taken the plunge and got myself a Caliber 90 06 version. Now have to decide what to put in it. I've got a spare set of 9252's so they're going in, 611 gyro and possibly a GV-1. I'll be using my 9ZHP. Does anyone have one of these machines and can give recommendations for paddles and blades? I've yet decide on a pumped or non-pumped OS 91 SZ. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I am using an extended flybar (540mm) and fun-tech paddles #A507 and radix 710mm blades and it is about as stable as they come, for the engine I am using a os-91 c-spec. there are pic's in my gallery. You will love this bird, happy flying.

Thanks for the reply irocu88. Your 90 sure looks nice dressed in the Staysee fuse. I've heard good things about Radix blades, so they could be the one. By the way, what muffler have you got on your C-spec? I'm looking at a Hatori 992 (I think). Do you know if the MP2 will fit nicely on the Caliber? It looks like it might be too large in diameter.

Enjoy the plunge, but why not buy 5 Gohbee Stinger 90's, 2, Synergies instead, or 3 Xpec EVO 90's instead?

Good question. The only real answer I can give you is that I wanted ONE top end machine. I don't want to have to get 5 (or 3, or even 2) sets of digital servos, .91 SZ and mufflers, receivers, 611 gyros, govenors, blades, fuselages etc etc. It's only the kit that is a bit more than the rest - everything else costs the same.
I do have other helicopters - a Caliber 60 (which is going to be sold), M50,, Caliber 30 and a pretty old 46VR. As you can tell I like Kyosho helos.
But the main reason is - I wanted one.

The reason is because the caliber 90 is hands above all that you mentioned. they don't even come close.

Well the only "HandS Above" are going to be those of the guy your are going to have to rob to pay for the thing. Your preaching to the chior, I have three Kyoshos and have been flying them since 1990, check profile pics, but the price of that C90, is just nuts. I guess if you are purist FAI type go for it. But from past performance, if these were NASCAR helicopters, the C90 would be wearing #5. Kind of an ALMOST thing, like grenades, horseshoes and atom bombs.

That's like asking why buy a Ferrari, when you can buy a whole bunch of Ford Mustangs? If you don't get why, you never will. Those big Calibers are works of art. I'll have one some day along with the top end Hirobo Eagle.
