With the DX7 looming on the horizon (no pun intended) does it make sense to buy the XP7202? Anyone here that has bought one, can they give an honest assessment of the XP7202. I've done a search and haven't found allot of info out there on it, other than ads. Is it a dead in the water Tx now that the DX7 is coming? Is it a decent replacement for an XP8103 (other than one less channel)? Anything about the 7202 that makes it a winner or a real dawg?

I think you are going to find that the 7202 and the DX7 are basically the same radio with the exception that the DX7 is 2.4 Ghz spread spectrum.
The 7202 and the DX7 are nice radios and have a bit more functionality that the 8103 even though they have one less channel.
The feature I would really like to see is a gov. function like the 9303 has. This would have made both the 7202 and the DX7 real winners.
One real nice feature the DX7 will have is that the aircraft and radio won't function unless it is selected to the proper model.

Georg Matthews...
What? It has no gyro function or it's just lacking in that area? What's it got better than the 8103 other than the synth channel selection feature. How does it stand up to the 9303 (other than the obvious)?

The 7202 and DX6 don't have the gov. function like the 9303 has. This doesn't mean you can't use a gov. but it does mean that setting up a TJ or similar gyro requires using program mixes with the 7202 and the DX6 if you want multi speed functioning.
I like the fact that the 7202 has some switch assign ability that the 8103 does not have. In my opinion there is no nine channel radio on the market that can compare with the 9303.
And for the money the 9303 is the best value.
