I picked up a Hitori pipe for my OS 37 and was wondering if there are any tips or suggestions for tapping a hole to install the nipple for the fuel pressure line? The pipe didn't have any instructions with it.
Is there a preferred location? Is where the hole located have any influence on the pipes tuning?
Thanks for your help!

BrentC,

First of all it is a Hatori, not Hitori.
Second, there is always a hole for pressure foreseen in a Hatori.
So you should find that straight away.
If there is no hole, maybe it is not a Hatori.

My HATORI pipe has no holes in it. Bought it brand new from a dealer sealed in an HATORI box. Maybe this one slipped by without tapping a hole. Find that hard for something manufactured in Japan.

I it could have no holes if it is intended for YS engine, but the smallest YS engine I know is a 50, so it can not be for a 37.

Brent,
Take a look at this link...

http://www4.mailordercentral.com/he...p?number=136939

Assuming this is what you have, if I were a betting man, that screw you see in the muffler will come out, to be replaced with the pressure nipple....

Clean the threads of the nipple and the tapped hole with acetone or BrakeClean to "degrease" and then use red (permanent) locktite to install the nipple....

Juan,
Thanks for the tip! My pipe does have a screw only on the top side. I have not opened the plastic bag yet thinking that I may have to take the pipe back. My pipe does differ from the one in your reply sold by Heliproz. I'm told that this is a new pipe. The model number is SAB-6RS for an O/S 37 Scadeau, Raptor. I am going to put it on my Kyosho Caliber 30 with the OS 37 motor. It looks like it will work ok, but do I have the wrong pipe in the right box?
Thanks again all for your replies,
Brent

Hey Brent,

If you __were__ to install the pipe you now have, will the screw wind up on top ?? If so, then you're all set... just remove the screw and install the pressure nipple as per my previous post....

If it's on the bottom, then you will need to drill and tap a location for the pressure nipple....

The location will be 180 degrees opposite of present screw location......

Take the screw out so that you can determine what tap and drill size you will need to use....(not sure if it's metric or not).....Reinstall the screw with permanent loctite....

Juan,
I took out the screw, and the fuel pressure nipple screwed in perfectly.
Should work out nicely.
Thanks again for bringing this to my attention. I just figured that the screw was there to aid in holding the mounting bracket more securely to the pipe.
