Can this be used on 2 cell li-po/li-ion?

Quotes may have been changed for my own amusement

Yep, Ive used one on my 2s 2p duralites. I prefer the Radio South checker though because you can hold the load for a second or so, the Futaba tester only puts a momentary load on the battery unless you put it into discharge mode.

Is there anything wrong with putting the charger in discharge mode? I was planning on using my accu-cycle elite in discharge mode to check my lions.

Nope.

Just set the d/c rate to something realistic and reasonable. I use 1.5. A full chopper of digital servos puts a high load on the pack.

Hi all!

that is not corect, the futaba dischrger puts an 20 second load on your batery while you are in test mode.

You have to conect the betary push the buttot and watch the display, it will show the voltage for about 20 seconds, in this time the voltage may change if your batery is not OK.
That is the time where the batery must stand the load which you have set before onto the smal wheel.

I set it to 1,5 - 2,0A - that is absolutely enough and show you exactly the voltage which you have while flying.

regards
Franz

Check the tech notes. The adjustable load does not come into play unless you're in D/C mode. The load range you suggest is of course correct, but you're not applying that to the pack unless you press and hold the button down until the fan comes on.
