Always liked the Glock 19(9mm) and the Glock 30(45ACP).
Dont forget the Mossberg pistol grip 12ga. for the Home!
i noticed they're not any comments from folks in illinois carrying concealed fire arms
Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6:

Of course you already know the only citizens in Canada carrying a gun is a criminal or law enforcement.

But I feel safe at nite it to damn cold to stay outside.

Ya can't beat a Mossberg 500 'Cruiser' for fast formidable footpounds of firepower. I load alternating 00-buck and deer slugs. Real persuasive -- and effective too.

One of the best options for home defense IMO.

That was pretty much my thoughts when I bought mine. I figured if there was an intruder, chances are when they hear this thing cocking they would lay on the floor and beg for me to call 911. And of course if they didnt, Id have no problems painting the walls red! I love home decorating

Ever run deer slugs through yours? The ones I buy are 540gr (1.125 oz) and will stop angry dinosaurs.

Ive never tried the deer slugs, but you have me interested. I'm going to pick up a box or two and hopefully try them out this weekend. A friend of mine owns a lot of land, so all I have to do is figure out what to bring for targets.

Of course with all the snow we have had lately, I guess I could blow up snowmen

Any log or large chunk of wood will do. Use 4x4's or larger if you wanna find the slugs afterwards.

Using slugs on people could possibly get you in trouble even if used in self-defense.
I don't give a damn whether deer slugs are legal for self-defense or not. In the extremely unlikely event that using that weapon becomes necessary, I'm fine dealing with the aftermath no matter what, since as a result I'll likely be ALIVE to deal with it rather than DEAD and regretting my choice of ammunition.

When using a slug through a shotgun, I would like to suggest a target. Use a watermelon...and stand waaaaay back. A "redneck" friend of mine showed me this a couple years ago, and it was well worth the $3 watermelon. I'm with Gimbal, if you enter my home without being invited...there is no telling what I'll throw your way. The very least of which would be a minimum of two full clips of 180 grain Hydrashocks. Please, please, please...if you are a criminal and come across a house in West Columbia with a pair of white Toyotas in the driveway...keep moving. Or not.

If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't ...

And so you're saying you're not a redneck? Hmmm...

So far I've mostly used mine for making kindling for the fire while camping.

As they say, "It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6." I too wouldn't hesitate to use whatever force is necessary to stop the threat. If that means using dear slugs in a 12ga. then so be it. If I can get to my M4 first, then that is what I will use. An intruder gets whatever he has coming to him.

The new Sig P250 will be my next handgun that I purchase. According to Guns and Ammo, "SIG's new P250 may not be perfect, but it's pretty damn close. It's a reliable, accurate and, yes, innovative pistol that can be easily mastered by right- and left-handed shooters of every size. I think SIGARMS has a winner on its hands." If I can get it before we go to range for our annual qualification, then I will most likely carry this as my duty gun. Nothing better than using the same gun for on and off duty work.

1911s are my favorite overall, but my CZ75 Champion is probably my favorite one to shoot.
