Have any other Trex 600 pilots noticed a little "attitide" from their local nitro/gas flying buddies when you get to the field, slap in your batteries and fire it up? Especially when they are gassing up, or trying to get started, or cleaning up? My two minutes between flights is really irking some.

The nitro guys must not know about the $1500(or more) you had to spend on batteries and chargers.

let them get mad.. They have every right to be jealous of your new heli

I have been dealing with nitro smoke for longer than they even care to know, so an electric heli should bug them even less. Rememeber when they were getting way more flights than electric? It's our turn to shine now buddy!
(remembering I sold my last and only ever nitro heli 4-5 months ago, and got serious about electric)

That said, I don't notice any attitude when I break out the 600..
people usually want to see what she can do.. (and I proceed to demonstrate)

Hey casey-

Just wondering. Are you at work? I just logged on to see what's up and all I see are "caseyjholmes" under the last post category. Sheesh! You're even putting that dude that was on here a few months ago 'Willy' to shame.

Nope don't sense an attitude from either the nitro or electric guys.....they both have their advantages. You might only have a 2 minute down time, but if I wanted to I could re-fuel my heli in the time it takes you to change your battery. That said how many batteries do you have? I got lots of nitro, and I dont have to wait for it to re-charge, and I fly hard 3d for 7 plus mins with consistent power! Oh boy I've done it now, Nitro VS Electric BEGIN! Flame suit on!

Timing is everything

Just noticed your other thread. 6 batteries! Damn man you MUST Really like Electric, or just plain hate Nitro! Thats damn expensive for less than an hour of flight before having to recharge. Realizing you probably recharge while your still flying, but still. But hey more power to ya, I like the 600, and in the hands of a skilled pilot they can run like a 90, I just dont see the practicality as of now.

I can see that my most of my friends that flys 90 size nitro helis are buying a Trex 600, including me. I think that the Trex 600 is going to be the first choice for the second heli. The 6S packs aren't TOO expensive like 10 or 12 S. The power is good too. I gess that electric will be the future but the batteries still the problem ($$$$$$).

Hell, I'm jealous of WASP's Nitro bird too. He makes me want to get all the nitro tools and get atleast one nitro again..
(you bastard! j/k)

don't think I would want another raptor. Everyone has had a raptor or wants one at one point in time. I think I'm finally ready for something a bit nicer.. but I'll wait till "crash season" is over before I buy anything

What do you guys think about "the vibe"? Never had a 90 yet.. Not too sure which one I Would like.

Vibe's are nice. I would also look into a Fury Extreme, a Stratus, Synergy N9. Or you could wait for the Aurora to come out. All sweet machines. If I get another one I think its gonna be either a Synergy N9 or the Aurora.

I agree with 3D Wasp, I have a Synergy...excelent bird. Aurora seems to be good too. I like my Trexes, but a 90 size nitro birds are the best...

I love all my helis but out of my fleet, I'd say that my favorites to fly (from best to least) are as follows:

Stratus 90
T-Rex 600
T-Rex 450
Lepton
Raptor 50SE

However, the number of flights per machine are as follows (most # of flights to least # of flights):

T-Rex 450
T-Rex 600
Lepton
Stratus 90
Raptor 50SE

I love all my helis and it's tough to make the distinction with some of them. The smoothest heli is the Stratus. It's big and nimble. It autos like a dream. The 600 is awesome and I love it because it's electric. The 450 is my beater. I fly it every day at least 3-4 flights per day. The Lepton is my newest so I'm still in the honeymoon period with it. My raptor flies well but it's currently the red-headed stepchild. I try to give it some love since it was my first nitro heli (and first large heli) but I prefer flying the others.

I dont have a 600 but a friend of mine did, he has also had alot of nitro/electric helis as well. I have never noticed any issues at our field what so ever, helis are helis, planks are planks, cars and trucks are just the same.

The only issues we have are with Jackass pilots who come out to our field with no regard to safety or spectators in or around our flying area. We let them know when they mess up or are not being safe, but that doesn't stop them from coming back!

Either way, were excited for any heli that comes to the field and any pilot willing to put them in the air. All are welcomed with enthusiasm!

Curious to know how does one battery pack hold up compared to the same amount of nitro fuel. If a 600 pack is 300 dollars that would buy about ten gals. of 30%. Do you get the same amount of flight time before the battery is toast?

Before the stuff gets too deep---------------------

The electrics are great, I've got 3 of them but when you stuff your electric and have to eat a $200.00 pack, it's only going to cost me a tank of fuel. Besides, if I want to fly back to back, it's really not an issue.

I agree with S76, it's very much of a non issue.

Hey Wasp. Sorry I'm just checking this thread. Had to go practice the autos this afternoon. Man did I have some close calls! Anyway, today I found out that is it just a few badasses at the field I go to that are rude to everyone. Otherwise everyone has been great. I've never met more cool people than I have the last 6 months I've been doing this. I do love the electric, but I do see the advantages of nitro/gas. Maybe one day I'll be ready for one.
