Just wondering. Contemplating a nitro 50 and how a Raptor Hyper 50 equipped will compare to a TREX on 3S. Was wondering how much I would spend on a typical nitro 50 crash compared to a TREX crash.

I see you are in Aiea, Raptors are very popular at the Kailua field right now and you can find alot of help there. Trex's are also common there. You may want to look into the TREX 600 as it is also 50 size.

Is the TREX your only heli?
Yes!,it's the only RC model in my collection at the moment.

1 year ago if someone told me that I would have spent over $3000 for this hobby in the first year, I still would have not belived them!

and one more thing "DON'T BE AFRAID!"

Well it seems that nobody has really answered your questions.

Just wondering. Contemplating a nitro 50 and how a Raptor Hyper 50 equipped will compare to a TREX on 3S.
Both helis fly almost the same of course when ever you get the bigger rotor mass they will fly better. The TREX will do all the move a nitro 50 will do.

Was wondering how much I would spend on a typical nitro 50 crash compared to a TREX crash

[B] The crash kit depending on what you need for a nitro bird will be min of 33.00 up to 80.00 depends on what you need.

They dont have a crash kit for a trex but what your looking at is at least half price of a nitro bird.

Alot of unanswered questions
you have a field to fly at nitro bird
this is first heli with field nitro bird
not alot of money with field nitro bird 30 size
no field but backyard trex
no hassles of cleaning and fuel trex
cheap parts and knows how to fly trex

as to the electric 600 from allign if you are not a good (non crashing pilot) i would not recomend these. Smack it once in the ground hard and you destroy your 200.00 battery plus chopper costs..

Electric helis are the best and greatest thing right now so they can charge top dollar but three years from now prices will come way down and i can see the rc turning that way... Just my thoughts. Happy thanksgiving.

I have 5 helis right now: one blade cp, one honeybee cp2 one HDX300 (Just a blade cp on steroids)the XL with a hughes 500E body on it and the SE. I stayed all electric so I have no mess to deal with, they are small enough I can take them anywhere to fly, Cheap to repair, and I can fly them off my boat during the summer...

Tom..... No "D" flying....

I have a Rex, a 3d Pro, a junker FP, and a Quick of Japan EP8.
I looked at Nitro but I cant be bothered with all the tuning and cost of nitro fuel, plus mess.
So Ive ordered a Gasser Tune once for summer and maybe again for winter, no mess, cheap fuel....expensive to crash lol...dont crash!
I think when you get above heli's like the QJ Ep8 and the Hirobo Lepton, battery cost is way out of control.
Personally I cant warrant spending $200+ US per battery for a 6-8 minute flight, then charge for 1hr 15.
To much hassle.

For the love of the hobby

T-rex 450xl upgraded to metal head and cf frame. I wan't to 3D so I need something cheap and easy to repair. I'm a low budget heli hobbyist. I also like the true plug and play convenience not available on nitro and gas powered ones. But I also have QJ-8, an in between size, not a 450 class not a 600 class, 3D capable given the right motor battery combination, not too expensive in its size category, true plug and play convenience.

I have one T rex with spare parts from a new kit. I inhibit myself from getting a different kind of heli for one good reason, and that is just having only one tool box / parts case!!Makes it an easy Hobby!

I have made my hobby as difficult as I can on myself. Yes I have a T-Rex 450 SE, and a 600. But I have also gone through just about every manufacturer to try out their nitro birds. And I love the smell of nitro in the morning. So I will NOT be going all electric any time soon. But I do like playing with the rexs as well.

Whats in my stable?

T-Rex 450 SE
T-Rex 600
Blade CX
Synergy N9 90
Predator Carbon Max 90
Predator Gasser SE
Hawk Pro 30
Raven 50
Raptor 90 SE
2 Raptor 50's
And a Pico Z!

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.
