I have a T-Rex SA. Obviously I did not build so I don't have much experience with the heli but I am learning.
I am stripping the main gear and am wondering if there is something I can read or see on installation of the motor and alignmentof the pinion with the gear.
Any help will be appreciated.

Michael

Heres a nice little RC Car trick:

Get a piece of standard paper and place it between the pinion and the main gear, then push the pinion against the main gear then tighten. Take out paper and if its tearedup then its too tight. the paper should come out looking like an accordian. Then verify(without) paper, that the gears move freely and no binding.

Nearly all Align main gears are 'OVAL' so backlash needs to be set via trial and error.
To be honest assuming you're stripping gears prior to crashing, then it's either your backlash or ESC settings.
