The bad press from helihobby aside, $290 is way too much. I found the combo on aligns website for $242, sent the link to my LHS and he's getting it for me! I'll have it Wednesday.

The CF version of the s is $289.99. The metal frame s is $240.99.

Saw the S and thought SA hence aluminum. $290 for CF is spot on. I personally am going to save the $50 and spend it on parts/upgrades later (read sooner). By going with aluminum vs CF I'm only giving up 20 grams, arguable stiffness, and glitches

Are you sure about less glitches? My MX400 with aluminum frames had a lot of glitches, similar to what people have been experiencing with CF-framed SE's. Makes sense, as both aluminum and CF are conductive. The only thing I didn't do to avoid glitches was go to PCM, as Hitec doesn't make a micro PCM rx (I have an Optic6 tx). Otherwise, all the usual tricks helped decrease, but not eliminate, glitches. The only thing that completely eliminated glitches was Spektrumizing my O6 with 2.4Ghz.

Unless Align aluminum is somehow different than HeliMax aluminum, I seriously doubt there will be a significant difference in the amount of glitches encountered.

Here's the website for the US Align distributor (Assurance R/C) with the various TRex products listed.

No not sure at all, just stating what I surmised about the SA's so far in reading about them. The general opinion seems to be they are far less glitchy than the SE. Of course we all know that has much, if not more, to do with proper setup and placement of components than with the material the frame is made from. I'm sure there are glitch free SE's out there and glitchy SA's.

No doubt. Helihobby is the suck. Buy from someone else.

MODEFO'S for sure! PM Wes, he will set you up..

My SA is running on a GWS 6ch rx. ONly time I get a cutout is when I load the head up pretty good. My guess is thats robbing power to the rx,
so I can probably totally fix it with a BEC. As long as I don't load it up a ton, I don't get any glitches on it. Brent and everyone at the OCHC field last sunday saw it fly..

even if it does cutoff, it cuts right back on a half second later
I think I'll instal a BEC on it and see if that helps any. I'm simply amazed at how well the gws 6ch rx is working..
